As the capital city of Uttaranchal it is home to many national institutions and it aspires to become the IT capital of the North. The landmark buildings range from the colonial FRI to the magnificent Darbar Saheb. It is truly a wonderful place to be in. The city has a temperate climate (with temperatures ranging from 7^oc to 32 ^oc), is 240 km north east of Delhi, 2300 ft. above sea level and is well connected by rail, road and air.
